Consisting of long hair that tends to fall to each side of dog, this coat is continuously growing and does not follow a yearly shed cycle. Show dogs are primarily presented with a natural finish, typically achieved with thinning shears. Examples include Wheatens, Briards, Yorkies, and Havanese.

Assessment Criterion:
Prep work: Dog is clean, dry and free of mats. Groomer has sufficient equipment. Groomer handles dog and equipment properly.
Profile: Haircut is balanced and symmetrical. Aesthetically pleasing. Proper execution for coat type.
Detail Work: Groomer shows comprehension of breed specific traits and fault correction.
Finish Work: Clipper/scissor/strip transitions are blended. Craftsmanship of groom is well executed. Groomer exhibits artistry.
