Consisting of a harsh, weather resistant jacket and longer furnishings, this coat requires a combination of carding and scissor/clipper work. Examples include Setters, Spaniels, and English Toy Spaniels.
Show off your grooming skills with this virtual grooming exam! Submit your photos and videos of the important aspects of grooming this coat type. Material will be graded based on the criteria outlined below.
Assessment Criteria:
Prep work: Dog is clean, dry and free of mats. Groomer has sufficient equipment. Groomer handles dog and equipment properly.
Profile: Haircut is balanced and symmetrical. Aesthetically pleasing. Proper execution for coat type.
Detail Work: Groomer shows comprehension of breed specific traits and fault correction.
Finish Work: Clipper/scissor/strip transitions are blended. Craftsmanship of groom is well executed. Groomer exhibits artistry.
