Virtual practical exam

Consisting of a harsh outer coat and soft undercoat, this coat can be maintained at a variety of lengths; however, it primarily requires the act of pulling the harsh coat to encourage the production of wire-hair. Examples include Airedales, Welshes, Westies, Scotties, and GWPs.

 

Show off your grooming skills with this virtual grooming exam! Submit your photos and videos of the important aspects of grooming this coat type. Material will be graded based on the criteria outlined below.

 

Assessment Criterion:

Prep work: Dog is clean, dry and free of mats. Groomer has sufficient equipment. Groomer handles dog and equipment properly.

Profile: Haircut is balanced and symmetrical. Aesthetically pleasing. Proper execution for coat type.

Detail Work: Groomer shows comprehension of breed specific traits and fault correction. 

Finish Work: Clipper/scissor/strip transitions are blended. Craftsmanship of groom is well executed. Groomer exhibits artistry.
